BED "MAGO"
Bed "MAGO"
The "Mago" bed is a conceptual piece of modern, elegant, and sober design, designed to fit into any bedroom or suite with simple lines and a minimalist atmosphere. This piece is made up of a hidden metal structure, the bed frame, which ends in the headboard that supports three pieces of Portuguese Estremoz marble stone: a circumference section, the vertical piece that shelters and protects, and two horizontal quarter-circles, one on each side of the bed, providing comfort and functionality, and serving as bedside tables. From this play and balance of shapes and materials, in which the stone, with its weight and materiality, contrasts with the lightness of the bed frame and mattress that levitates over the hidden metal structure, creating an elegant and sober piece of design and giving rise to the concept and name of the bed, "Mago", in homage to writer José Saramago's work Jangada de Pedra, which tells the fictional story of the geographical separation of the Iberian Peninsula from the rest of the European continent. From this metaphor, architect Bruno Câmara designed and created this elegant, light, and balanced piece of design that fits in and harmonizes with any room or suite in a welcoming, luxurious, and functional environment.
